Have had these two corals for a while, but never knew sp. or any fancy names for um. SPS names confuse me. Thanx

I wouldn't say they are easy, still need some growing out to do. Here are best guesses thus far.

Ocellata on the first http://sdmas.com/corals/540.php
Lokani on the second http://sdmas.com/corals/621.php

Hey everyone,

was wondering if anyone can ID this piece. I picked it up for 5 dollars!!!!!

Woops sorry! Made a mistake on this post! Actually posted under someone elses post.

Can a moderator move this and make it a new post under ID. Thanks

I figured the giant polyps at the end of each branch would be a give-a-way on the first picture, but i guess not. Looks a little similar to the one you said, but pics dont show extension.

Always go by the skeleton. Things like polyp extension and color can lead you in the right direction but is never reliable way to ID.

Good to know. Are you guys going off of a certain index or library found somewhere?

I prefer this database: http://coral.aims.gov.au/speciesPages/
They are the original source of the information and have a more complete skeletal database.

Being that is fairly common, first one looks like Green Slimer (Acropora yongei) to me now. Anyone agree?

Yes. Agree on yongei.
