Broken TDS wires

The wires on the in side(water in) of my TDS meter are broken, but the wires on the out side are working, and my meter says err on the in side (of course), but reads 0 on the out side. Can I count on a correct out side reading? isn't that the important one?

The out tells you when your DI media is used up, but the in tells you what kind of shape your RO membrane is in. DI media gets used up quicker, so I'd just switch it so it reads coming out of the RO membrane once in a while to make sure it's still working well.

I agree that knowing the effluent reading is the most important. But I do not know anything about how yours is wired up to know if it is working properly.
