Generally yes, a semi-picasso would be considered a grade-B. Which usually means the white only connects on one side. Where the grade-As usually connects on both sides of the fish.

thanks, but some people sell grade b with no lines connecting, so what would that be classified as?

Maybe if you post us up a picture WE in the RC community could "grade" your lil guy ;) I love Picasso's so they are all "grade A's" to me! :) But, yes. Generally the responses you've gotten from the others in the community seems to be the grading "scale" :) Let us know if you purchase one or already have one! :)

You are right the "grade" has gotten weird the past year or so.

ORA originally labeled a "Grade A" as one with bar connection on both sides, and "Grade B" with bar connection on only one side. I dont think Doni follows the same grading process.

Grade A or not, that fish is cool all the same. I would buy it...given that they arent trying to get your car for it.

im beginning to think if this is a picasso or a snowflake..Would i be fine with 1 snowflake and 1 picasso?

snowflake and picasso should do ok. i would look for a pattern i like, not the name. unless someone is charging you grade A price for a misbar fish

Here is what I have heard from my Fish Breeding friends in terms of grading

Grade A- 2 bars, on both sides, touch (no black in between)

Grade B- 2 bars, on one side, touch (no black in between)

Snowcasso- ~70% white

Platinum- >90% white

No problem, like the previous posted said you can pair them. Either buy 2 small ones are 1 large and 1 small.

I actually like the marking on the one in the back a little better.

So is this a semi picasso? The dorsal fin is a bit worn I'm hoping it will recover soon.

I would say it would be a grade B

I'm not crazy about the grading thing either really, and honestly I've seen many B's I liked much better than some A's.
Personally I just like the random patterns whatever the grade may be, everyone has their own idea of what looks cool, I pretty much like em all.
Yes you can mix snow's and percs, make sure at least one is no bigger than an inch and a half, preferably smaller if you can, and I advise intro in a specimen container to be safe.
The one w/ a tattered dorsal also has a ragged tail, probably has been bullied.
It could heal, but I do prefer starting w/ clean healthy as can be clowns, and they should be QT'd to be safe.

One side has all three touching, up to his dorsal fin. The other has first and second bar touching. What does the helmet mean in terms of grades? Thanks. :)

@nguyentri- yeah it does look like a snowflake, maybe its a snowcasso.

@buddythelion- your clowns look good, I think they are grade A picasso, but then again they dont form a continuous pattern they seem to touch which will make them a Grade B. Either way they are pretty cool fish and I would not bother with the grading. They look quite big compared to mine. How big are they?
