Hey all. Part of my zoa colony is slightly round. Do he ones ear the bottom get enough light? Do they all grow as one? If one is shaded will it hurt the rest. There are a few hundred polyps
Thanks

The ones near the bottom should figure it out for themselves. They may grow longer stalks so they can get out to the light. If there's a rock nearby they may latch onto that too. Even if the shaded ones die off, the rest will be just fine.

They are individual animals connected.
Their share of internal metabolism through the connections appears to be minor.
Each polyp will adapt to the environment where it is found.
They will grow accordingly to what they have available (light, flow, etc.).
People will love if you post a picture of hundreds of polyps in one colony. Trust me!
