I have currently set up ( what i believe to be) a 20 gallon long frag tank. DIAMETIONS -36''x12''x12''. I currently have a dual 96 watt power compact light over the tank and would like to cut the energy cost of these outdated bulbs. I was thinking about maybe putting two PAR 38 bulbs over the tank. But was not sure on brands or optic's to get on these bulbs. If anyone has tried these or would like to recommend a brand to try or if anyone thinks these are a good or bad idea please chime in.

You could also get away with doing a small DIY fixture- it may actually cost less than 2 par 38's

Can't go wrong with rapidled. They have a great amount of coverage and a wide variety of optics. Depending on what frags you are growing and how you mount them you would probably do best at 80 degree.

thanks krslln those look like a good idea i have been looking at diy setups for my 95 gallon but havent got around to it. on that note i saw on there website that they have a actinic supplement kit that has 24 blue leds do you think that would supplement on 96 watt power compact?
