How do I program to run a dosing pump for 1 second each day? I need to dose 1 ml each day from an aquamedic dosing pump and I can't figure out from the manual how to run a dosing pump for less than 1 minute.

Thanks in advance.

It can be done, but 1-second run is not a good idea, IMO. You should either get a dosing pump more suitable for such tiny doses (like as a BRS 1.1ml/min unit) or dilute the solution you are dosing 1:10 (and therefore run 10 for seconds)

I agree with Russ, one second is right on the accuracy limit of the Apex. However, assuming you take his advice and dilute it. To do a single 10 second dose, use the following:

[Doser]
Fallback OFF
Set OFF
If Time 8:00 to 8:01 Then ON
Defer 1:50 Then ON

The Time command is accurate to the whole minute, so it creates a two minute duration. However, the Defer delays it by 1:50, thus creating a ten second dose.

Actually, the dilution ratio would be 1:9. I was suffering from acute caffeine deficiency ;)

Absolutely I will dilute.

As I was going through the manual I didn't see anything about dosing, only pump on/off. Those commands are limited to minutes, not seconds. Based on my inability to find anything other than OSC commands for repetitive programs that dealt with seconds, I wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something.

I was looking at purchasing the AquaMedic SP 1500, which would deliver approximately 25 ml each minute (if my quick math is correct based on the SP 1500 delivering .4 gallons per hour). If one minute is the minimum dosing command, I will have to try to find a slower dosing pump.

Thanks for the info.

@Todd: Thanks for that. I get how to get it to less than one minute now.

You can also use OSC followed by an IF Time xxx to TTY Then OFF to get down to 1-second granularity. The If Time would be set to prevent dosing when not wanted. But the way Todd stated us the best way for a once-a-day dose.

IF Time xxx to TTY Then OFF Oops. Autocorrect got me. That should have been If Time xxx to yyy Then OFF
