Have 3 AI Sol Blue's and was wondering whether to change all optics to 70 degrees ? Im thinking it will help a lot on spread , but will it take away a lot of power and PAR? I have them over a 180 ( 72x24x24 ) .

Look at my thread on the first page with 70* optics. The 40* optics are made to get the light down to the bottom. This is usually for depths over 30" if I recall correctly. I recently put all 70* optics and to be honest more of my zoo's are opening due to less directly intense light over them. I don't think you will lose much on a 24" tank and if anything you could always increase intensities. i am also supporting a clam in my tank.

I skimmed through your thread before I posted . Lol sorry, must have passed the intensity part up .

That's good then . I was asking about intensity because I will have clams and I have a RBTA as well . I will also keep 2 or 3 SPS. Do you keep any SPS ?

I have an SPS thats been in there for 3 weeks now. I have been taking pictures and at this point I'm just starting to see small changes and pieces of growth in the SPS.. The clam is doing fine!
