I am thinking about one Anthias, but I never had any experience with anthias, liveaquaria says they need to be fed 2-3 times a day, is that true? is it hard for them to eat dry food? I am think a disper anthias, is it ok if I only have one?

or do you have any other suggestion for a red fish?I have a yellow tang and a blue chromis in the 72 bow now.

what about a Carpenter's Fairy Wrasse, is it reef safe?

You can get an auto feeder with new life spectrum pellets for the anthias (haven't had anthias myself yet, just read about other people doing that.)

Another small red reefsafe fish is a Tanakas Wrasse. Good looking fish with lots of character. They come up in DD from time to time. They're defined as reefsafe but in my experience they can pick on nano fish (nipped off Yasha goby's long fin) and eat small ornamental shrimp (5 sexy shrimp vanished!!). Other than that, great fish! :)

I've heard Red candy basslets don't keep their color very well in aquariums.

Not true. Mine kept it's color throughout the 6 years I had it. But for personality, hardiness, and a lot less expense, you simply cannot beat a Flame Hawk.

Red Stoplight cardinal or two or three! Small, peaceful, reefsafe, very red. They come up on LA and BZ from time to time.

Why does that look like a really small Garibaldi damsel, do you know where it was collected?

No he is not a Garibaldi Damsel, here is the link from bluezooaquatics which is where I bought him.

The juv. Garibaldi does not have that large black spot, this one only grows 4 inches and is much cheaper than the Garibaldi.

This seems like your best bet for true red. Will eat shrimp.

How about a rosy scale wrasse? They are a pretty unique fish with a very odd tank behavior.

That damsel will lost most of its colour as it matures. It will look more brown then red.

I would have loved to add a flame hawk, but they go after shrimp, of which I have a few. I instead got a pair of McCosker's flasher wrasses (reef safe), which are beautiful and can hold their own against all my other fish. Carpenter's flasher wrasses (also reef safe) would be a good alternative as well.
