I have a berlin 250 (i know) skimmer that is the hang on model. I have done some upgrades and it has been working great for me for about the last 3 years. I am currently building my new sump, 125 divided into 3 sections, equipment, fuge and return. I will have plenty of available real estate inside the sump now and was wondering if I could put the skimmer inside the tank. The reason I am wanting to do this is because I left the baffles lower in the sump for ease of working with filter socks and extra room in case of a power outtage. I was wanting to put the skimmer inside the equipment section with the outflow going straight into the fuge section. Will this affect the operation of the skimmer? I can leave it hanging if it will work better this way but if not I would rather use it internally. Any advice?
