like the title says I have nitrites in my QT...i have one fish in there right now
I am also using a seeded filter in the HOB...so I am not seeing very much ammonia, just nitrites...This normal?

I just had that too, prob from over feeding. I did 20% water change fish is more relaxed.

What is your ammonia level? The nitrite really is not an issue, it is not harmful to marine fish, unless the concentration is very high. (100 - 300ppm generally)

ammonia less then .25ppm
nitrite 1-2ppm

Yeah, PWC to bring the ammonia down. The nitrite is insignificant however.

I went ahead and already did a water change...about to test again

I agree, nitrite is so nontoxic in a seawater QT that I wouldn't even measure it. Ammonia is the concern. :)
