Got 'em as a pair, not neccesarily a mated pair. I believe they are both females. I dont know what species. There is no blue around thier eyes.

Anyone? They are bright yellow with specks of pink throughout. They also have 3 pink lines behind their eyes.

Looks to me like they are female Square Anthias.

And if they are and there is no male in the tank... watch the larger one and it should become pink and develop a square as it becomes the dominant male.

They are the Taira species. Can I mix with other species? Are they male or female?

Looks to me like they are female Square Anthias.

My LFS has a large male pink square...like 5". Not sure if I want to put 3 in a 90g. That male is really big. Ive looked a little more and I think they are pseudoanthias taira. I am not sure though. I called the LFS and he said they were true yellow anthias. Not sure what that means as i am new to Anthias.

no need to add a male, let nature take it's coarse and the larger will become a male in no time .

Cool, will the "new" male harass the female too much. I heard it is a good idea to keep two females in order to break up too much attention toward one female.

Square spots are on the large size. a 90 might be a bit tight for more than what you already have. my squares are pretty mild mannered toward each other...but they do have plenty of room in my 265. here's my boy !
