My calcium levels were too low a few months ago so I upped my dosing. Anyways, I forgot to change it back and now my Ca levels are at 600. Is this harmful for the corals? So far the only thing I've done is turn off the dosing pump for Ca and am waiting for it to lower to the correct levels before turning it back on. Is that ok or should I do a large water change? So far, I see no adverse effects in my tank. Everything is doing ok. Thanks for any input.

In my experience its should comes down on its own without issues
Small Water change is another option but i will be lying if I give you that advice since I don't do one.

IMO your regular water change would be ok. Large water change and rapid drop in calcium level would stress you tank more than current elevated calcium level. Never heard that elevated calcium killed corals, alkalinity yes. Just my 2 cents.

I did the same thing in my 24g aqua pod. Did a few small water changes over a couple weeks and everything was fine..

Regular Tropic Marine salt has low calcium (375),if you use this salt your calcium should go down, what salt are you using?

Agree watch your Alk, with CA that high it will be off balance and use the Alk faster. I think you will be fine.
If you get heavy calcium Alkalinity deposits in your pumps or plumbing it is do to chasing numbers that are overloading your water and it has taken me a long time to learn not to chase numbers and that less can be more as long as you are in a Happy Tank range.
I do similar adjustments to bring water back into balance and forget as well, I need to have a timer with a flashing reminder on my tank to check things like this. I need a larger Alk container as I am now going through 2 gallons a month and I have missed it getting low twice. No problem when you test every few days, but I have been lazy on the testing as of late.
How are the corals responding to the new light?
I think you are fine on the CA and it will come down quick. Your regular water changes should be fine.

Thanks for the help guys. I'm currently using Instant ocean.
Scott, my corals have acclimated well to the new LEDS. I'm currently up to 55% intensity. I haven't bleached any corals as of yet. I'll post some pics up tomorrow.

I think you're best to just let it come down on its own. I'm going to just continue doing my normal water changes and keep dosing alk to make sure it stays up. I'll probably just dose half of what I normally dose for ca until my levels get back to normal.
