55g 24x24x20 w/ sump w/ refuge/cheato, skimmer, filter sock, rodi, 8% weekly water changes
tank has been cycled since dec.
(2)mp10wes in reefcrest mode at 40%
CaribSea Dry Aragonite Special Grade Reef 1-2inch sand bed

Tank Inhabitants:
melanarus wrasse
2 baby b&w clowns
tail spot blenny
yasha goby
pistol shrimp
a lot of assorted snails
few hermits

I'm having patches of an almost yellowish tint UNDER the sand. How do I go about getting rid of this?

I think this is normal. You can see it through the glass? I have the same sand also yellowish patches. Do you have any sand shifters? Perhaps pick up some nassarius snails to help.

I only see it through/up against the glass around the tank. I haven't been "sifting" through the sand.

I do have quite a few nassarius snails. I got the 50g cube reef cleaner package from reefcleaners.

could it be cyano? under control of course. Knowing cyano its probably living on ambient light through the glass hah

A photo would be great, as I can't fully visualize the yellowish tint. It could be a fine layer of detritus, where a fighting conch would be of some benefit. Also, is this a mature sand bed?

sand bed has been in since December.

That looks like some type of algae on the glass. :D

It looks like algae to me too. With a little bit of cyano. Your grain size sand looks pretty coarse, is it crushed coral?
