I am helping a friend get into the hobby on the cheap, he is setting up a 10g, I am looking for suggestions for lighting to put in the small canopy we made. I don't think they make T5 bulbs that short. A dual 36w PC would be perfect but it looks like those retrofits cost a lot more than I thought. He just needs something simple to keep mushrooms and zoas - he might even just put a socket and a household PC bulb in there, but I'm worried about that being close to water and enclosed in a small canopy. Maybe a cheap LED strip?

I used to run an Aquatic Life 18" T-5 fixture over my 10g.Worked fine, kept Zoo's and LPS under it.It's been years ago though.
