R/O Solenoid Question

I am leaving on a trip next week. The solenoid for my R/O system died this evening and there is no way I can order another in time to get it fixed before I go. Is there anything wrong with using a sprinkler solenoid valve for a week and then fix it when I get home? I can get one of those locally. I don't know the internal workings of the sprinkler valve and didn't know if there would be anything detrimental to the water from it. It is on the input side of the R/O so the water would go through the filter after the valve.

I use an all brass solenoid in front of my RO/DI for years, plumbed right into all that copper pipe. No problem.

I was more concerned with lubricants or some kind of mold preventive they treat the valves with. Does anyone know?
