Just trying to get an idea of what carbon people use in their SPS tanks. Can you please tell us your-
Total water volumn-
Is it used in a reactor?
What brand?
How much?
And current bioload-

Many thanks

Am I using too much carbon? 1.5 cups in a NextReef MR1 reactor... 66g total water volume.

Edit: using Brightwell Aquatics Carbonit-P. Used the BRS calc and selected pellets.

Thanks for all the input. It is interesting to see what everyone uses!

Aquatech (walmart) or cheap brs carbon. 5 tbsp in a single brs reactor. Changed every two weeks. I suppose I could go longer but I have to clean out the sponges in the reactor anyways

for what it is worth there was a nice chart/ study on carbon I found several years ago and pound for pound Api was the best. If cost were no object: two little fishies hydrocarbon was the best. I have tried a lot of carbon and really believe hydrocarbon is the best. You can buy cheap light weight carbon for a lot less but it is not as effective considering pound/cost ratio.
