Does anyone have an idea as to where I can purchase some thing like this?

I want to replace the PC actintics in my odyssea MH light with RB LED strips!

a lot of people also use the aluminum c-channel from home depot or lowes.

Salty, those are close, but 1.85" wide is a little wider than I want. C channel is not an option.

Out of curiosity, why not?

If you call heatsinkusa you can probably talk them in to cutting their heatsinks to any dimension you need. They've done that for a handful of people on here even though it's not advertised on their website (that I know of).

I have only 1.5 inches to play with, I would really like to have the added fins for heat transfer.

From a thermal design perspective, that's a horrible heatsink.

Though without knowing the load we can't really tell if a horrible heatsink will be good enough or not.

To the OP: what's your load like? How many LEDs at what power level spread over what distance? Is there any sort of provision for airflow in/around the area?

Thats exactly where I found the original picture, problem is you have to buy 1 million pieces! I only need 8 feet!

Rapidled has 1.1" heatsinks. I used them on my light rack build. Here's a pic.

The Heatsinks are Here. (http://www.rapidled.com/1-1-width/)

I used 14 on one 36" strip, which may be too many, but I plan on active cooling (they get about 42C without fans).

RTMA, thanks I will look into those, but 44 bucks for 48inches is quite abit, i need two plus LED's so we will see. Thank you.
