Marineland 60 cube plumbing

Hi guys, I have a reef ready 60 cube from Marineland. I know that this overflow is notoriously difficult to work with, but I know some of you have successfully configured the plumbing. I've tried two different configurations but I can't seem to get the noise level and glugging sound to stop. I.m using a sedra 7000 as a return and was told to dial it back with a ball valve to reduce the amount of water entering the drain.

If anyone has this tank can you let me know how you plumbed it and give me some detailed pictures, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
