Are there any variants of C. rhomboid? My LFS has had one in stock for the past few weeks that came in as a rhomboid and I think it is...but it's color is throwing me off. It's a lot paler than other rhomboids I've seen - basically a pale yellow with light facial markings. Are females paler in color with less purple? I can see the stripes and dots on it's face but they are very pale with not much contrast. I do not think it is a stress display as the fish appears very healthy, active and settled in and housed in a 5'x4'x20" frag tank which it patrols every inch of.

Any ideas?

I've seen juvis and females in various hues (light and dark) of gold/yellow with lighter blue on the head. Do crosses happen? I'm sure but I've not seen one with Rhomboid.

Pretty sure its not. It doesn't have the red tail block.

I'll try and get a photo of it and post up. Probably be the easiest method of IDing the fish.
