ok i received this tank as a christmas present several years ago and have not found a good use for it.

so now i have it plumbed into my 175g bow...
the tank is a 10g 1/2 circle
17" high
17" across the back
10" front to back

basically filled it with branch type live rock from 175g bow, considering a green clown goby..what else if anything can i put in it. NO JUMPERS as its open top

They have these tiny little fish at our LFS that they keep in a nano on the counter, have no clue what they are...some kind of goby I think (not clowns). They also keep sexy shrimp in there. I think they're these (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+31+2613&pcatid=2613). They seem kind of boring, but you could put redheaded gobies (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+31+202&pcatid=202) in there. I've had those before and they have personality.

Here are some other ones that stay tiny.
Red Striped Goby (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+31+1728&pcatid=1728)
Red Spotted Goby (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15+31+1968&pcatid=1968)

Maybe one or a mated pair of Blue Banded Coral Shrimp (http://www.liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=497+525+1134&pcatid=1134). I've also had one of those before (the female mate didn't make acclimation), and it hung out with the redheaded goby in the Diamond Watchman goby's burrow.

keep em coming, although i think the mantis shrimp is out as i am 99.9999% sure i am gonna put a green clown goby in so any addition must be compatible with the green clown goby

this is a change for me from my normal tangs / L&D angels / triggers / puffers

I would look at a tail spot blenny. I would think that tank would really only be good for one fish...two if you really kept up with tank husbandry. Look into sexy shrimp and pom pom crabs. I kept both in my 6gallon nano.

or what about this option

several small damsels since the bio load wont be an issue..ie a damsel tank with a "high density population" like many people do with the african ciclids

the tank is plumbed into the 175g bow and the 175g bow has a sump of 50g useable water volume, live rock, skimmer so tank upkeep will consist of vacuuming bottom of tank/cleaning glass all else would be accomplished via the bowfront water change

I had a 10 gallon with a damsel in it. I don't see how you could do more than one. During tank maintenance she attacked me relentlessly and bullied the hermits (including a giant one as big as my fist...it ducked every time she swam by LOL). With damsels it's not so much about bioload as it is about how much territory they want for themselves (all of it).
Those gobies I listed all only get 1", so you could actually put several in a 10. The LFS has a few in theirs and a cute tiny little protein skimmer.
