I keep getting brown algea on my sand i have a 65 gallon tank with a 30gallon sump the skimmer is a etss reef devil t5lighting 2blue 1purple 1 bright white nitrates are 0 nightrite are 0 amon. Is 0 ph is 8.3 calcium is 480 alkalinaty is at 8 why is my sand turning brown and what do i need to do to stop:headwally::headwally:

Is this a new tank? Sounds like it might be diatoms which is normal in a newer tank and will subside as things start to settle in.

How old is the tank, how many hours/day are your lights on, phosphate level? A pic would be helpful.

Tank is over 1 year and lights come on in stages 2 blue at 10 am the 1 blie and 1 white comes on at 4 phosfate are 0
