I'm going to be moving soon and I'm trying to plan it all out. I don't have far to go but I'm wondering what the best way to move these particular fish.

Lineatus wrasse
2 Snowcasso clowns
pearly head jawfish
Flame Hawkfish
Fathead Sunburst Anthias

The clowns will chase the hawkfish and the Lineatus is the top fish in the tank and will chase some of the others on occasion. So is it best to bag them all separately during transport? And once I'm in the new house would putting them in a small tank or bucket with PVC to hide in be acceptable? I don't want them fighting or attacking each other (if they even would while being moved). I'm assuming it's going to take me some time to get the scape done and get it all going and I'd like to put a small pump and heater to keep them well oxygenated.

Experiences? Thanks.

Definitely, definitely bag species separately.

What are your plans to control ammonia while in small tank or bucket and the new tank, if it is not fully cycled?

The tank will be cycled. I'm using all my current rock and water. I just need to house the fish while I'm scaping and didn't want to keep them in bags while I'm doing that. So I thought I could put them in a bucket or container while I'm doing that. But I wasn't sure if I put them all together in the bucket would they fight or will they be too freaked out to do anything but sit in a trance.

I have some AmQuel on hand but I didn't think I would need it. I imagine the longest they would be in the container would be 4-5 hours max.

i would still put some ammonia remover in in case of any die off stirring up sand mini cycle all things that could happen.

Whether you decide to keep fish in bags or a bucket keeping them in the dark will reduce activity and stress. Adding ammonia remover is a good precaution both when the fish are in a bucket or their new home.

Thanks all for the input. Now if I can just get my new tank. My Deep Blue rimless came in last week at PC, went to go get it and it had a large scratch on the back glass. Joe had to send it back but they are back ordered and I'm praying it comes in soon. I don't know what I'm going to do if it doesn't come in soon. Just add to the stress of moving.
