Can't update firmware

I have been trying to update I'm firmware on apex but get failed unlock attempt unable to unlock controller error Also my display screen is black that's y I'm trying to update see if that fixes issue current firm ver is 4.05 on my controller

There are some tricks on forcing firmware loads on those old versions, in the User Guide. 4.05 is pretty old and there were many firmware related issues back then that have since been fixed. I'm not familiar with that specific error though. I'd start with a thorough read of the firmware chapter and go from there.
