What affect does cigarette smoking have on one's reef tank.

Now let's have a realistic, scientific discussion and no ranting and raving about the ravages of cigarette smoking.

It won't have any big effect on pH above your own breathing which is supplying more CO2 than is the cigarette.

I do not think there is any information on what effects the fine particulates might have, but I'd expect little to none. The particulates might have some impact on skimming as hydrophobic particles can pop bubbles in a skimmer. A smoker could test that for us by exhaling into a skimmer inlet. :D

I doubt any other chemistry issues are significant, and I'm sure they are not understood if they are significant. :)
