I just ordered a Nano 24x12x12 and I was wondering what kind of lighting to go with for it. I would essentially like to keep Lps and Possibly Sps. So, if it was your tank, what lighting would you throw over it? Thanks

T5 would be a good choice. You can find 24" fixtures quite easily.

Yeah I was thinking about ATI but I just wanted to see what other people would do. :]

I would throw a single Kessil A150 over it. 15k.

Too much heat IMO.

Yes, I think halides would be too much heat and too much light spill

I'm over on nano reef as I own a 25"x15x14, I run one sol blue at 12" above, perfect coverage, but the ati sunpower is a great choice as well!

To be honest, an ATI might be complete overkill on such a shallow tank. A Tek might be the better choice if going the T5 route.

Halides will be fine seeming that you could probably use a single 150w in a decent reflector and just hang it higher over the tank.

As far as LED goes, I like and use Ecoxotic myself. The 18" fixture would be plenty and you can always add more modules or stunners if needed. The 18" fixture has 2 power supplies and dimmers already included so you only have to buy more modules or even stunner strips to customize the light to your liking.

I just started a 24 x 12 x 12 nano myself and am running a Kessil on it.

Here's a link so you can see the light.
