can someone point me in the direction as to where the rule states that a local reef club forum is a classifieds forum? pretty confused why my post got closed seeing how its not in a forsale or trade forum. people talk about many things on here. as do people have other hobbies besides fish. how is it in the forum viewers benifit to close threads in a local forum from a fellow reefer thats trying to give someone a great item. why do some people treat this site like occupied germany? theres nothing posted in the rules that states we cannot sell personal items in a local club forum i just looked. classified adds arent even close to the local forums. :thumbdown

things get a little crazy here sometimes, but it is what it is i suppose. i know they recently booted pat - norrin. no idea why, but it sucks. he was a good addition to the site.

end of the day there are some people who deserve to go and some people who make the place what it is.

enough said, i dont want to light the powder keg.

Somebody must have reported the post with the little red triangle. Mods are pretty quick to answer that stuff usually.

just cant stand the fact that i cant see if theres anyone that wants a limited edition guitar at half price when they "state" that you cant be a commercial seller yet i saw hundreds of frags come from hobbiest tanks at the ffm and im supposed to believe that they broke off or got to large? who are we trying to kid here. i may not be a genius but even i can see theres something messed up here. who do i have to have relations with to get a fair deal? i belong to 5 other forums ALL OF WHICH have other things for sale other than the intended need for the site. and i bet i know who reported it too. GET TO DA CHOPPA lmao ctars needs a new base.

While this is posted in the For Sale section, I believe it pertains to the whole fourm...but they can't sticky this in every forum.

"These forums exist as a service for our members to trade or sell their reef related items."

Basically they want to avoid RC from becoming CL. If they allow you to post your non-aquarium related item for sale, what is to stop everyone else from posting items they have for sale? It would be a free-for-all...and aquarium related posts could get buried under hundreds of for sale threads.

thanks for the link sd i read that and still didnt find anything.

and keith i definitely understand what you mean. they need to change things in thier "rules" that states you cant sell anything that isnt reef related on any part of the forum. i checked the stickies in this forum before i posted it. and i feel i went through the correct guidelines. if the mods can read into anything they want and apply rules where they arent stated to cover its a bit unfair. 95% of my contact with the club is through this site. which is why i wont become a paid member. it gets frustrating watching the mods overlook so many peoples actions yet they bend thier own rules when they see fit.

From reading other posts where people have asked similar questions in the feedback and questions forum...the mods and admins simply can't read every post made. Unless the mods are alerted to a post that is in violation, it may never be viewed by them. As gmate mentioned hitting the red triangle is usually how things get noticed by the mods and they can then do what they feel is best.

I guess the biggest thing to remember is that we are guests on their site. CTARS doesn't pay for this forum, so we need to abide by their rules. As a paid member of CTARS you will have access to their bulletin board where you can post...but you will be lucky if it is read by a single person in a weeks time:spin1:. It simply isn't utilized, but is there.

Ding. Ding. Ding.

It was closed because we don't allow non reef related classifieds. How hard is that to understand? :) This isn't craigslist and we've never allowed non reef related classifieds.

And that jab in your first post isn't conducive to a long term membership here. I'd suggest not doing that again.
