Last night i turned my mp40 off to feed my tank. Soo this morning i tried turning i on in the morning and it started spinning and working fine. Next thing i know i heard a high pitch whine and it stopped and showed the red green flashing. I have never really heard it before so i know that i had it mounted good and aligned. So from there i turned it off and un mounted the wetside and noticed that the impeller was wobbly. I have ran this for 7 months with no problem till this happened. I myself am disabled and no use of 1 hand so i cant tear this thing down to see the problem. Please answer this to see what i can do as this is my only powerhead in my tank. Thank you for your time.

red/green=stalling issue. call ecotech and they will help you out. great customer service! when my unit did that I just ordered a new wet side and it worked like brand new

I had that the other day and had to send mine in for service. They will most likely tell you to turn it off, pull off the wet-side and turn it back on to see if the motor works properly, if it does they will probably have to disassemble the wet side and make sure nothing is stopping it from spinning (there is a video for assembly on their website under multimedia). After you reassemble, they will have you put it back on and retry it. If your motor without the wetside is making funky, clanky noises, you may need a replacement motor. That was what mine was doing. If you figure out what side is causing the issue, call them and they will send you out the side needed (wet or dry). Hope that helps

I had this happen, Resetting pumps memory fixed it for me.

Hold Both buttons until you get Red/White/Blue
Hold Black button until Red/Purple
Hold Gray until pump resets.

If you multiple pumps setup in slave master configs you will need to rest all of them and reprogram.

ChefZilla,

A slight wobble is normal. I clean mine at least once a month, vinegar bath, brush, rinse. Your's might have gotten enough build up in 7 months to freeze it. Give it a good vinegar bath.

Has anybody pulled it apart for you? If they didn't get the white ceramic ring fully seated correctly, the shaft will not spin when the nut tightens up. The white ring must be flush, not sticking up at all.

If you can't find somebody local to help you pull it apart call Ecotech and see what they'd charge.

+1 on the ceramic bearing. I posting a thread a week ago about just this issue. If that thing isn't perfectly seated, the pump doesn't work and seating it takes patience and a steady hand.

I had it seated perfectly. I called one of my buddys over and we watched the youtube vid and he dismantled it. The shaft of the impeller is broken and looks as it it was "eaten" away. as i said there was virtually no vibrating sound coming out of the unit and it was set at 100% NTM mode at a few times a day. Can i buy just the impeller and not the whole wet side? It looks as if its broken flush with the magnet

Yep, you need the MP20/MP40 Wet-Side Maintenance Kit (http://ecotechmarine.com/parts-store/) it located on that page and costs $20.
