Hey guys

I currently have 1 golden maroon, 1 flame angel, 1 mandarin, 2 blue cheek goby and 1 chromie. I am currently feeding them Dr.G's veggies, Rogger's Reef Food and brine shrimp. Is there anything else I should be feeding them or will this do?

I usually give them veggies first and then a mixture between rogers and brine shrimp 30 min later or so. I have cope pods growing in my refugium as well for my mandarin plus he eats the brine shrimp as well.

Any recommendations?

Oh boy....honestly, you gonna have some issues in that tank. That maroon is going to terrorize everyone in such a small tank once it gets bigger. Mean little buggers lol

Also your angel may get aggressive too or stressed out.

How big is that tank? It doesnt look big enough to house 5 fish, especially one that should be in a 75.

There are lots of foods to try that can be effective, but Im looking and more worried about the tank as a whole

the Clown is already 4 inches long or so and the tank is 60 gallons (it's much wider than it looks in the picture). I have never had the clown pick on anyone except for the occasionally "get out of my face" push.

My angel is a big dummy, he just cares about eating and he is very healthy. He has never, not even once, showed any aggressive sings.

Thanks for your concern though.

Ok well thats good they are all getting along. Yes your tank looked like a 14 biocube lol. And no I wouldnt doubt someone trying to do that.

Mysis is a good food. I use PE mysis and it works well.

Is your mandarin an ORA?

to be honest I don't know if it's an ORA or not. Here is a better picture of the tank and my docile maroon clown.

Ok well thats good he seems docile and not picking on tank mates. Angel isnt nipping on corals either?

Well Reason I asked if it was ORA, is cause they have been trained on nutramar OVA. But all your fish will eat that up like halloween candy.

You've got a good start. I would consider a high quality pellet food too. I like New Life Spectrum pellets. Formula 1 and 2 work well too.

On a related note, your mandarin looks very emaciated in that picture. Keep feeding him if he really does eat frozen foods. You may want to think about getting some more pods, or increasing the amount of live rock in your tank, shaking out chaeto in the display if you have it, etc.

My flame angel doesn't pick on the corals, he just nibs at the sand and rocks.

I will buy more pods for my mandarin today after work, my mandarin is a little thin. I'll shake the chaeto I have on my refugium in the display as well.

Excellent tips, I appreciate this a lot. Also on a different note, I will be attempting to pair up my clown sometime in the near future. I've read this post http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?threadid=215098
and I know what to do by knowledge but obviously I have never experienced this before. I hope this goes well!

Here is another picture of my madarin

You could try feeding live brine shrimp or even live black worms to your mandarin. I don't think your other fish will mind. ;)

Don't be discouraged if your GSM kills the first juvenile you try to place with it. My female did it to my first one, but accepted the second one without harming him at all.

That is great to hear!

Yea I am ready to see her be a big ***** but hopefully she'll take him eventually. I guess some little male maroons are just not ready for tough love.

I'll make sure to take pics of this event once I do it and I'll post them up.
