What is this red stringy stuff growing on my sand and rocks?

My first thought was cyano due to color and how easily is siphons off, but it is growing in strands and not in a mat. Nitrates are reading zero and I do not have a phosphate test kit.

It is a 90 gallon tank hooked up to a 30 gallon sump that has been running 7 months. I run a skimmer and have cheato, and I am in the process of hook a 29 gallon biocube into the system that will end in a ATS dumping into the sump. What else can I do to solve this problem? My livestock consists of 2 false percs, 1 bangaii, 3 blue green chromis, 1 mystery wrasse, 1 melanurus wrasse, 1 clown goby, and 1 kole tang. My sump is also temporarily housing another clown and damsel for a friend. I feed about one square inch of rod's food per day. I also run a filter sock that is changed about every 5 days, once it is clogged.

Thanks for your help!

Definitely Cyano. Your nitrates/phosphates will read zero because the cyano is consuming all of them. I had a very similar outbreak about that same time in my 90.

Check the thread on here about ways to get rid of cyano, mine went away after I started running GFO, decreased my lighting schedule to 8 hours, and replaced my bulbs!

Good luck!
