Hello,

The water coming back from the display is dropping in my sump with such a force that it is creating a salt creep issue. I would like to keep the sump a lot quieter. Can someone suggest how to install some kind of splash guard? As you can see in the below video, the space is tight. Since I don't have space for adding a sock to catch debris, I am using a little rubbermaid container stuffed with polyster fiber fill. If I can control the splash I think the fiber fill will be lot more effective.

Anyone has any ideas?

I think you need the outlet of that pipe barely submerged in the water below, not blowing water through the air.

I have a filter sock on my return and a extension on the tube. No splash at all. I'll post a photo in a few. Excuse the dirt, it's been neglected due to illness.

Well, here's how I got away from the splash and also adds another filter line to the system. As I said, please excuse the dirt. I had a heart attack and a slight stroke last year and just now getting back to where I can work on the aquarium and try to bring it back into shape. I hope the sequence is clear enough for you to understand what I did. If not, just let me know. This is a 4" sock and the holder.

Yes, I can do that. But how do I install a sock then? The sock would be submerged too?

Oh I have good Doctors and they are really watching out for me. Thanks though. I sure hate what I lost due to the health issues. Over a $1,000 worth of corals and fish. Will be a lot slower rebuilding now that the income is fixed and a lot lower. LOL

The sock is submerged and the pipe is just off the floor about 2 inches. Everything was great until.... I used a pre-made sock holder that attached to the side of the sump. I'll see if I can locate what I have.
