Advice needed

Okay so I have the bubble master 160 skimmer which has the psk-2500 pump is on it's way out .. Do I have to replace it with the same pump or would I be able to use the psk-1000 which is a bit stronger or the psk-600

On my Bubble Magus BM-200 I swapped to the PSK-1000 and I'm super happy with it.

Some notes about it the inlet is bigger and threaded reverse from the 2500, the bubble plate would have still worked although I changed to to their newer style and the mounting plate/foot is different on the 2500 so you can't use the same one, the parts like the mounting foot, correct venturi, and bubble plate were available online for my skimmer.

Also I did need to drill the hole larger in the side of the skimmer body itself, it was like 2mm to small.
