Kalk to top off water

Would starting some talk in my top off water work for me. I top off by hand about a gallon a day.. can't seem to keep alk stable with brs 2 part

It might help some, although that's hard to determine. The higher pH will encourage growth. You'll need to get some sort of equipment to run a drip.

You want to slowly add the kalk over a period of time and not just all at once. If you have an ATO that adds a little bit of water/kalk to replace evaporated water is one method. Setting up a kalk drip is another method.

A big dose of lime will spike the pH. I agree that adding it slowly is the only way to go in this case.

I add it in the sump by the skimmer. I use a aquarium air valve and drip it in. I mix five gallons at a time with four teaspoons og ms wages pickling lime. Works great
