Hey all, any one that has used this algae can you put up anything you have found with this algae form!
I am trying all kinds of things with these algae since one of our guys found a ball of it on one of our sunshine coast collecting trips.
We have found out heaps,stiil, this thread is going all over the place to get any knowledge any one wants to share to accumulate any thing known as to its capabilities and its life styles beyond what I have tried and will try with it.
So far this is the experimenting to date.
In the NWMS it is spreading out to the stage of near taking over, the strain of racemosa I have wont let that happen I am sure, so I take from with in the NWMS and have tried it in no light-high flow areas, it doesn’t stop its growth, low flow-no light,still no affect!
I put a relatively straight length of it an dit begins its ball the next day when in the open.

This is the area where I am growing other small parts that are no longer small parts.

I grow it under ten watt LED fluro replacement tubes at 3 inches off the water and the algae is 4 inches under that water, the results are impressive, but that’s the thing, I don’t know that much about it, any helpful input would be great.
This algae is a good find I must admit because things were getting a little boring with the hobby of late, I love to experiment and have run out of something to see results of varied and interesting types.
I will persist in trying anything I can think of as to what it will do and its affects, but if some have already carried out lots of trials that would be great to read them, actual trials from actual people is what I like to look at, thanks in advance.
