Don't really have a favorite. They all have something unique to offer. Though Puppy Center has the biggest selection.

Puppy center is my favorite. Good prices, good staff, good stuff! I've heard good things about fintastic also but I've yet to take the ride out there but I will have to at some point.

Puppy Center by far. Better than fair prices, great selection, and you get to listen to Phish music when you cash out.

I am going with aqua dreams good selection corals to match any budget its clean offers good advice and the owner takes care of CTARS memebers as well as regular customers. They have a sale just about every weekend.

I am not going to lie tho I like puppy center as well. I try and mix it up a bit and end up going to bouth stores. like the people there as well good selection.

"Krystal Clear Aquatics" in Auburn, MA. They have, hands down, THE biggest selection of salt water livestock out of any lfs I have ever been to. They dont have a lot of corals, compared to Puppy Center or Exotic fish and corals, but if you are looking for fish or inverts nobody touches there selection and prices. Plus "Krystal Clear Aquatics" is 95% salt water and 5% fresh water as opposed to most places being 50/50 at best.
And my other favorite lfs is "Fintastic" in Manchester. Todd and Ryan are awesome guys that go out of their way to help you out. I cant say enough about Fintastics either.

Hey watch it that's my wife your talking about. I'll take that as a compliment though
I like that when I have her stop by PC for me the staff recognizes her and get her what I sent her there for without asking her why she's there. True story.

Wow, a lot of people like Puppy Center! Do they have a lot of corals/frags at reasonable prices? Do they ever run sales?

Thank you again everyone for your input.

Yes they run club sales all the time and I think the reason pc is one of the top places around is because of the staff thy always try and make time for you and there selection is good to.

He'll learn quick enough.... PC is the place to be. Yes, excellent selection of corals, both colonies and frags, and excellent selection of healthy fish. Not to mention all the supplies and equipment you could possibly need.

And yes, the staff ain't half bad, either. :love2:

PC for me as well. The staff are great, as is the selection & prices! I've only made it up to Fintastic a couple times (almost a 90 minute drive for me...), but they were a great store as well. Not as much of a coral selection as PC, but lots of fish and great pricing!

Fintastic is in the process of expanding coral room . i haven't been there lately but its most likely done or close to done by now. i was at pc lastr week picked up a couple cool frags but i just dont get the warm fuzzy feeling others get. maybe its just me.

#1 for me puppy center
#2 aqua dreams

Why both of these shops will give you great advice and be honest with you. Puppy center will treat you like family. Hell, they probably see me more often then my family. As a matter of fact when I finish my burger I think I will stop in. It has almost been 24 hours since my last visit.

Thanks again all for contributing.

I am going to have to check out Puppy Center & Aquarium again. I have been their twice, but it has been a while.

I went to Aqua Dreams in March and really liked that shop. :)

Being from RI, Ive never got to Puppy Center(maybe its time for a road trip!lol) I like Fintastic alot. Great prices and always there to help. Krystal Clear is the cleanest fish store I have every been in. Big selection of fish at low prices. In RI ,I like Sea Creatures but he sells his stuff so quick, you have to be there when the corals and fish come in. But really the best store seems to be CTARS. Always quality stuff for trade or sale

I am a really big fan of Puppy Center, like many have said its seems more like a community setting than a store. My biggest reason for saying PC is that whenever I walk in I'm usually greeted by my name and they always ask how the tank is and they all know what issues we may be having, well me anyway cause I'm always posting them...lol

I usually get greeted by Joe or Alex and they are never trying to sell the latest and greatest stuff. It's always a pleasent experience. If they were smart they would put in a lil table with a coffee machine...I think we'd all be there for hours.

well another good place is coralreef aqurium in seekonk. the owner is more knowledgeable then most. and the best part is he will not sell you bugs, and will refuse to sell you corals that r not up to par. i would pick his brain for hours on my trips out there. he seems to be on point with your problems, and give good advice.he will also not try to sell you unneeded reef things. sorry for the rant but ints not easy to find stores and knowledge in the same place...lol:) just talk with Jeremy.he really knows his stuff:)

lol he is a small well maintained shop, raises his own clowns, and cardnels. he will not have the display as large as puppy ctr, however they are also turning over alot of corals.dont get me wrong i do also like puppy ctr, but i hate walmart if you know what i mean. Jeremy is great.

also im sure he isnt as cheap as puppy ctr eather, however somtimes i like to spend a little more when the risk is a little lower on the pest aspect of this hobbie.

Exotic Fish and Corals is my favorite. Bob is a great guy and truly cares about your tank. His coral selection blows away the others and he always is willing to frag an expensive piece to save you some money. He's even given me pieces from his own personal tank when I was looking for a unique coral.

Thank you for your post! I went there during the summer and was pleased with what I saw. That is another LFS I need to check out again! LOL.

Hey, I might as well make a LFS visiting day.

Hi everyone!

Have you guys ever been to Appalachian Tails in Glastonbury? I haven't been there in a while either, and was wondering how it is now.

Thanks!

I haven't been in quite some time because they had very little marine stuff, but I will stick my head in again to see if that has changed and let you know.
