Still trying to get an old system back online. It had been skimmerless, but won't be this time.

The old oceanic 30g cube has a 15g sump...so true water volume may be closer to 40g.

Help, need suggestions. Thx!

I have 2 of them and they are great. I have the 65 and the 150. The 65 will work great for you and it's only $79 I believe

I have about 40gal or so, and am currently using the SWC Mini HOT hob skimmer. I don't recommend it due to Noise, overflow issues, microbubbles..

I have an Aquamaxx HoB-1 on the way, and hope its a much better unit, reviews seem positive.

I considered the slim skim prior to the SWC, but my issue was that the slim skim (which sits in the tank) was too tall for my tank.

There are a few options out there, all I can suggest is you read up on them. With a sump you have more options than I.

Thanks, starting to read up now. The brands etc I knew before aren't exactly the latest and greatest, so I've got some catching up to do now that I'm getting back into things.

I'm using a 15h for my sump and my lower baffles are about 12 inches high....so about 5.5 inches from the top of the rim. I'm not sure my water level will allow me to use a hob model on my sump. I'm thinking in sump. Do you know what water level the slim skim needs? Other ideas? Got a couple models to check out now...so thanks to all who've posted so far.
