First I would like to say thank you to RC!!! Prior to setting up this reef tank I had African Cichlids for years. When i decided to switch to SW I turned to RC for info and research. After a ton of reading I decided to give it a try. My tank is an Oceanic 175g bowfront and is now almost 8 months old.
Filtration
-200+ lbs live rock
-50g rubbermaid tote for sump filled with live rock
-In sump SRO 2000 Skimmer
-Koralia 1400 X 4
-HOB Overflow with Triton 4 for return
-BRS Dual Reactor (GFO / Carbon)
Lighting
DIY 108 (54 RB /54 CW) LED build from Aquastyleonline
Levels
Ammonia:0ppm
Nitrite:0ppm
Nitrate:<5ppm
Calcium:480
Mag:1380
Alk:9
Salinity: 1.023
Maintenance:
-30g water changes 1x per month with Reef Cyrstals
-Dose 40ml distilled white vinegar daily
-1tsp of BRS calc every other day
-1/2 tsp baking soda every other day
Knock on would I have not had any algae issues or major disasters. For others who are new to the hobby the best advice I can give is to take it slow and do not impulse buy!
