I faced recently a bacterial bloom in my 195 sps tank. Water cleared 3 days ago. I have noticed that Kh mg and ca hasnt changed(ca 440 Kh 11 mg 1350) for the last 3 weeks coincidently with beginning of bacterial bloom without adding any additive. Corals have stopped growing But i would expect any consUme which did not happen. Is this possible ? Or i am missing something ?

Thanks

If you do not have growing hard corals or coralline algae, the drop in alkalinity will be slow and there may be no drop in calcium.

FWIW, a bacterial bloom can actually increase alkalinity a little as nitrate is consumed, releasing some alkalinity.
