Moving my setup to my acrylic 30 as a temporary containment until I finalize what I want to do with the 90. Decided to hold off until I am in a better financial situation. I want to add a desk to my bedroom as well and the corner tank is ruining my furniture arrangement, whereas the 30 fits perfectly.

Looking to get rid of a nice 55g corner tank+stand. Stand is black, tank rim is black. I believe the tank dimensions are 30inchesx30inches. It has a DIY rock wall (30lbs of live rock on the wall, excellent for additional filtration) which is starting to blend into the rest of my rockwork. It has been up and running for 6 months with no issues as a mixed reef. Glass has one small scratch on the inside of the front pane but it's barely noticeable at all, otherwise it's in great condition. This tank is not drilled and will require an overflow box, which I don't have.

I have a small sump (looks to be a 10g tall) that I would happily include with this. I do have a return pump for it as well back when I last used it.

Asking 200$ cash, pickup is in Ansonia 06401. It should be available before the end of the week. I think this is a very fair price considering that I paid 300 for this setup when I purchased it, then sanded/painted/stained the stand and added a DIY rockwall.

I crammed this thing full of rock, probably close to 85lbs worth, but that's just how I think it looked cool to me. I don't have a recent picture unfortunately, those are a few months old.

Hi! Just a quick technical question: What are the benefits of the egg crate & ties method of creating a rock wall versus epoxy-ing or silicone-ing rock directly to the back glass? Are there any concerns about the weight or water-flow? Thanks so much!

I wouldn't put that much weight on the glass like that. The eggcrate and foam distributes the weight across the entire piece and makes less stress on the the glass. It's also easier to get off and there are no sharp edges against the tank (the back of the walls are absolutely flat). As for flow, it's siliconed in so there's no nitrates building up behind the wall.

Still available, would love to get rid of it. Trying to sell off some of the live rock inside it too, or I can include with the tank.

Craigslisters trying to get the entire setup for less than what I'm asking for...I love hagglers. Still available.

Fair enough. Also nice to meet you Steve! He took quite a bit of live rock off my hands for a hell of a deal. A+ quality rock.

Now I've got what's left (my rock) stewing in the 30 until it's cycled, then the corals swap over and the downgrade is complete. This tank will be basement-'ed until somebody finds interest in it. :D

Swap over is complete, this tank is empty and in my basement. Price is 200 for tank, stand, small 10g high sump, and an old (but working perfectly!) return pump. Thanks all.

Can the rock wall be easily removed?

Can the rock wall be easily removed?

Yes, and I would gladly remove and clean up the tank (remove the silicon I used to put it in) prior to purchase so that it's a standard 55g corner tank. I'd happily do that for you if you have interest!

Gmate do you think this would be a suitable tank for a future paludarium? Trick question if you say yes then I will wonder why you didn't use it for yours lol
Do you know if the bottom can be drilled?

gmate
08/09/2012, 06:37 PM
The bottom is tempered, and because I don't have the furniture setup in my bedroom for a corner tank! The paludarium construction begins tonight though!

Ohhh I can see why that would be an issue, I didn't even think about the whole corner thing. And oh man Id get it if I could drill the bottom.
P.S.I 'd love to see your build!

I'll even take the rockwall out if you really want me to. Tank stand sump 100 dollars, with or without rockwall. As you can see I have eggcrate and some old sand in the bottom which can easily be removed and cleaned out.

Here's some pictures of it sitting in the basement.
