So I am getting an anemone this weekend and I like to know what if anything that I can do to prevent the anemone from going in the powerheads.
I had an anemone for two years once before and when I switch my light bulbs from waivepoint's to ATI's my anemone started wondering around till I woke up a few days latter to find it shredded by my korelia #4.
I will admit that I should have changed the bulbs one at a time over a wider time spread rather than all at once. I am probably looking for some kind of mesh material that I could put around my powerheads. Any one got any ideas?:debi:

Is that the kind you use to put carbon in sumps and such?

200 micron filter bags that you get at LFS for carbon or whatever will work, you could also put some foam sponge around it.

Ill try the filter socks. I kind of wish they made black ones.

I had used white mesh material from the craft store on my koralias before. The oval shape was hard to neatly cover and when they got dirty it was a pain to clean. And when it was dirty it really cut back on the flow. You should try to find something with bigger openings so it stays clean longer. I also never ran a filter sock so I'm sure that would make a difference on how fast they got dirty. If you could find a very thin foam similar to the covers for the ecotech pumps or a screening a little smaller than brs 1/4" would probably work best.

Ill have to do a search on that. I might be able to get some of that filter floss that comes in pad from. I think they may have them in black .
I am almost tempted to try black pantyhouse.:lmao:

Check out the crafts section of your local walmart and look for needlepoint mesh. It's a clearish, relatively fine flexible perforated plastic sheet. Should be east enough to wrap it around your powerhead and keep out wandering critters. Bonus you don't have to worry about it collecting as much junk as a cloth or sponge material.
