going to setup a 29g for a pair of seahorse's for the wife and was trying to figure out what to do for a filter i have 35lbs of live sand and about 25lbs to put in the tank and will have about 15g if water to change weekly if needed.

have a spare penguin 350 laying around

am trying to stay away from a sump for lack of space

would say you need a hob skimmer for sure maybe not so much rock more leather corals and such for them to hitch to . also weekly water changes is a must. the hob filter will work . thats how my 29g tank is set up hob filter hob skimmer and 1 power head for flow

Know what a good skimmer would be for a hob that's not going to be loud or put bubbles in the tank

I have an open air line in each seahorse tank to aid in gas exchange at surface.
I don't worry about bubbles.
