Im looking for an in sump pump, my footprint is as follows: 13.5" x 11" x 24" tall

This will be going in my 90RR tank and 30 gal sump.

Thanks

nice price but do you think it is too small? Its rated at 100G, I have a 90 plus 25G sump..

This is crazy there are too many damn skimmers to pick from.

Im looking for the best/Quietest one for $250 or under that will fit in my space provided (13.5 x 11 x 24" tall)..

Reef Octopus has a crap load of different kinds of skimmers:fun5:

What about a skimmer like Aqua C or Precision Marine? Are those any good? Anybody?

I really like Aqua C but that would be out of his price point unless he does a HOB style and hangs in on the section on the sump. I just sold a Marineland 300 for $125 brand new on ebay that would have done fantastic for the price point. got it a that pet place for $78 on clearance when I was there one day.

Reef Octopus are by no means the "best" IMO. I've had 2. I've also had 2 SWC skimmers which I have liked better. That said, RO's are an established brand and are good for the money. I would by no means advise against getting one. Just saying that I don't think they are the best.

So what do you reccomend? What SWC's did you have?

Anyone have experience or an opinion about the Eshopps Economy 120 Skimmer? I am getting a 75 gallon with a 28 gallon sump.

The sump is a taller and slimmer tank, so footprint is a consideration.

Thanks in advance...

I have had the Reef Oct. BH-1000 and NWB-110, and SWC Xtreme 120 cone and the Xtreme 160 cone. The BH model was loud and near impossible to clean.... probably to be expected with most back hanging makes and models. I liked the NWB but it didnt really fit well in the sump I had at the time... replaced it with the Xtreme 120 which I loved... and upgraded to the 160 when I upgraded tank and sump size.

Aside from all the gunk that they remove, my favorite part about the SWC cones is how easy they disassemble for cleaning. Also have a small footprint, adjustable gate valve for water level, and adjustable air intake valve.

This is why I suggest getting the skimmer before making the sump.

hi guys... I just bought a nw 110, I am still preparing my tank so I haven't yet connected the skimmer. But since this is my first time I thought i will give it a trial run, I first ran freshwater.... And the force or bubbles from the pump was very less... More like beer just poured in to a glass.....I added salt and the bubbles increased and gave me some little froth.... But I still feel my pump is not giving enough force out as compared to the videos I have seen of the same skimmer... Bubbles almost blast and hit the skimmer walls, however mine barely reaches the centre of the cone.... Is this how its supposed to be? Will it start blasting after breaking in?

Nobody's asked what he's keeping.
If softies or lps, best not have too great a skimmer. If FOWLR or SPS, a really good skimmer.
