what to make calcium with?

Is their something else to make calcium with. Cant find the drive way deicer where I live. Is water softner the same thing?

DO NOT use softener salt! Deicer is either calcium chloride or calcium corbinate, I forget which one. See Randy's recipe link above for calcium
