Ok so I have an orange mushroom ricordea thats about 1" in diameter and unattached to a rock twice I tried tying it to a small rock using sowing thread twice the first time tied it with one string and it got loose and fell the second time tied it with 2 strings on each side it it still got loose any suggestions on how to get this mushroom attached to a rock please.

put it on a flat rock or flat coral skeleton and place in a low flow area maybe in a corner under a powerhead. This is what i did and didn't need to anchor it down with anything.

Just put some rubble in a small glass bowl, place the ricordia on top and then move it someplace in the tank where it's recieving some light but the current won't blow the ricordia out of the bowl. Then it's just a waiting game. Once it has attached to a piece of rock, then you can superglue it anywhere you want.
This can also be done with a small glass. A tumbler or even a pint will work. Anything that will help keep the ricordia in place. HTH.

What did you use to anchor it down?

nothing, just a few rocks near by to breakup flow.
