28 nano hqi can 89 degree water temp kill all my zoas in one day? all chemistry is good 390 calcium i am new to the hobby and everything was good for a couple weeks did a water change and half my stuff died!!!! this stinks does anyone think it could be the high temp? thanks for any input

It's most likely temp related.

Keep a fan blowing across the top of your water if the temperature of your room is cooler than the tank water. Running an A/C in the room also helps.

Unfortunately, 89 degrees is WAAAAY too high for any coral to survive. Zoanthids, and ANY hard or soft coral have to be between 77-79 degrees. No coral can tolerate much over 82. And if it's hitting 82 you need a small fan that they make that some people (who can't afford a couple hundred for a chiller) use with success.
Yeah, 89 degrees es no bueno.

Welcome to RC! Sorry to hear of the zoa deaths. You mentioned that it happened after a water change, but how did the water get to 89? I'd also run carbon to remove toxins that may affect your remaining corals, and perform a few water changes as well.

Sorry to hear of your lost.. I have the same tank still in cycling process those hqi lights are hot going to have to figure something out soon how to fix this fans or chiller

With MH lights, you'd probably need a chiller. Fans would lower temperature by a few degrees only...
