View Full Version : baby clown in a seasoned tank... is it ok

I have a small tank that I'm taking down and it houses a baby clown 1in. we all have grown an attachment to. Can I put him in my large mixed reef tank. There are a pair of spawning clown, Wrase, tangs, angels, anthius. What u think

No, you shouldn't mix pair of clowns with another clown. Most everyone recommend only one pair per tank.

The spawning clowns will eradicate the new baby clown pretty quick....

no, he will not make it for very long. spawning clowns can be vary mean.
you'd be better off to put him in the sump if you don't want to trade him back in to the lfs.

Ok I'll play devil's advocate. A friend of mine's dad had a similar scenario and it worked out for 7 plus years with a trio of ocellaris. I don't believe this is a common outcome though.
