So this is weird.

I can access my dyndns domain from the internet but not behind my firewall.

If I want to get to my apex at home I have to use the ip address rather than the domain name. This started when I upgraded to WOW Ultra Tv and was forced to use their ARRIS DOCIS 3 Modem/Router. There's no way to just use it as a cable modem and turn off the router.

Any of you network guru's have any idea?

TIA!

The ability to use your dyndns hostname while on the same local network as your controller is called NAT Loopback. Some routers support it by default, many don't have the capability at all.

There's nothing you can do about it if your router doesn't have the feature... as you discovered, you then must use the actual IP address when home, use the dyndns name when away.

Actually, you might be able to put it in Bridge mode. However, if you did that, you would then need a separate router and the ARRIS would simply act as a modem.

The option to use it in bridge mode has been disabled by WOW otherwise I would just do that.
