ID? sponge? and weird grass?

Sorry the Pic is not any better I dont have a digital cam. I dont know if you guys will be able to figure it out but worth a try, the black circle kinda feels like a really hard sponge and the white one feels like plastic grass.

The white circle I believe is just a type of filter I forget the name but they are good and a sign of good water typically

I can't see anything in your picture but the words "plastic grass" give me an idea. Look up valonia or green bubble algae.

Took me a little bit but i found this pic and im pretty sure they are the same, its a chaeto. I was worried for a sec that it was some kind of green bubble algae. They sure feel the same, i had to remove a bunch of them a few weeks ago and popped 2 of them. Thankfully i have no bloom.
