Hello,

I've been told by the LFS that if I make little holes, with a needle for example, in the body of a SPS it will develop branches, is this information correct? Can it harm the coral?

Thanks!

that is strange, i have heard of trimming a branch to make them grow more, never to poke them with pins.

I also never heard about this, but he is a very successful SPS keeper and seller so I kinda believed him.
Anyone ever tried?

Cutting branches will often trigger the coral to split in that particular place, so I guess maybe, but I'd speculate this would be hit or miss
