corals!!

My tank is only 17" high and i plan on getting this light (http://www.aquatraders.com/36-inch-3x39W-T5-Aquarium-Light-Digi-Timer-Fixture-p/52314.htm). What corals can i NOT kepp in my tank? Also any ideas for what my first coral should be? :D

You should be able to keep just about anything with that light over 17" depth. Place the SPS higher up. The LPS and softies will be fine at lower levels.

Yea you be ok...just upgrade bulbs :) ati coral plus and some blues...my fave :)

Softies are probably the easiest.. leathers, mushrooms, zoas, xenia, cloves.

I read that zoas spread really fast so should i put them on a seperate rock?? Any recomendations on the type of zoas i should get?

most people do, I decided to just put them in the places in my tank where i wasn't getting great light for other stuff and let them try to fill it in. So far my Zoas are growning, but can't keep up with my well fed Acans in total area being consumed.
