My DT is 240 Gallons and the sump is 65 Gallons. I have a Reef Octopus Dual 6" Recirculating Skimmer rated up to 500 gallons. The skimmer is being fed by my 2400 gph feed pump. I have it tee'd (manifold) off from the main feed to the DT. I only have a few corals and 10 fish, misc invertebrate. I have 90% dry rock and 10% live rock. The dry rock has been in the tank with a full light schedule for 8 weeks now.

My protein skimmer doesn't seem to be producing the right kind of bubbles. They are small and they don't seem sludgy enough?? I have adjusted the bubbles to flow over and into a bucket but from my protein skimming past experience it just doesn't seem to be producing enough brown sludgy looking stuff. Gotta love my technical writing skills:twitch:

The external skimmer is set up just outside the sump. The water level mini mark is 4" above the sump water level. Does this matter with an external skimmer?

Thanks in advance!
